Faro T. Owiesy, MD: The “Modern Old-Fashioned Doctor”

Faro T. Owiesy, MD, has been practicing medicine for 41 years. He is a multi-specialty and internationally trained physician.

Dr. Owiesy is Board Certified in Urgent Care Medicine. His recent US training includes Family Practice at the University of Texas at Galveston (UTMB). He completed his fellowship in Children and Adult Burn and Reconstructive Surgery at UTMB-Galveston and Shriner’s Burn Hospital for Children in Galveston, Texas. He completed a Neurology fellowship in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Owiesy completed his medical training and residencies in General Surgery, Traumatology, Vascular Surgery, War Injuries, and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery in Iran and Germany.

His broad spectrum of experiences includes working as a reconstructive microvascular war surgeon. In addition, he completed clinical fellowships in Esthetic Plastic Surgery in Düsseldorf, Germany.

He is involved with research at different scientific levels, including the treatments of reconstructive burn injuries, Migraine headaches for the past 21 years, and ongoing research involving Multiple Sclerosis related to Chronic Cerebro-Spinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI) and Cluster headaches.
